Services for Joey Alan Barwick, age 55 of East Dublin, will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Faith Christian Assembly. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Doug Bridges and Rev. David Canen will officiate. He passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Joey was a member of Faith Christian Assembly. He was a 1979 graduate of East Laurens High School and was retired from Dollar General Corporation as a district manager. He was a great musician and lover of music. Joey was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Barwick; step-father, Cecil Collins; daughter, Joni Barwick and sister, Jackie Barwick. Survivors include his wife, Melinda Barwick of East Dublin; mother, JoAnn Collins of East Dublin; son, Jordy (Britney) Barwick of East Dublin; mother of his children, Debra Barwick of East Dublin; grandchildren, Brianna Barwick, Braylin Stephens and Tyler Stephens; step-children, Dwayne (Nicki) Fleming, Timothy (Laura) Fleming and Christopher (Tori) Fleming, all of Elberton, GA; step-grandchildren, Jaron Fleming and Alyssa Fleming; brother, Sonny (Sandra) Barwick and Sammy (Becky) Barwick, all of Dublin and a number of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Don Collins, Sonny Warnock, Wayne Wilkes, Gary Frost, Dean Fordham and Dale Frost. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
