Services for John Enoch Fulghum, age 79, of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 8, 2011, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fulghum Cemetery. Judy Fulghum Thigpen, Randy Parmer and Ashley Fulghum will officiate. Mr. Fulghum was born in Wrightsville. He was retired from Forstman after thirty-six years and also farmed. He attended Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Fulghum was an avid hunter and fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Roger Fulghum and Ola Mae Walden Fulghum, and brother, Joe Fulghum. Mr. Fulghum died Friday, August 5, 2011. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Mattie Angelo Scott Fulghum, of East Dublin; children, John Enoch (Stephanie) Fulghum, Jr., Judy (Derrell) Fulghum Thigpen, Dale Mitchell (Tonya) Fulghum, and Jody William Fulghum, all of East Dublin; brothers, Edward (Bobbie) Fulghum, of Athens, and Clarence Roger (Carol) Fulghum, Jr., of East Dublin; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Byron Fulghum, Sean Fulghum, Robbie Graham, Rob Bass, Chris Martin, Ashley Fulghum, Jeremy Durden, David Howard, and Chandler Thigpen will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity Place; 504 Parker Dairy Road; Dublin, Georgia, 31021. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. . The family will be at the home of Derrell and Judy Thigpen; 650 Fulghum Road; East Dublin.
