John V. Perkins, of Dublin, 78, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021, after an extended illness and complications from Covid-19.

John was born October 16, 1942, in Dublin, Ga., to the late Samuel Perkins and the late Ruby Nobles Perkins. He graduated from Dublin High School and served 8 years in The United States Air Force where he received training in electronics. He was a veteran of Vietnam.

After his Air Force service ended, John was employed at The Emory Clinic in Atlanta, Ga., where he retired after 43 years as a Cardiac Sonographer.

John was an avid sports fan and loved hosting the family tailgate parties.

John was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Perkins Gore, and husband Ronnie.

He is survived by a niece, Cheryl Gore Chance (Rod); nephews, Jeff (Sara) Gore and Steve Gore, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his beloved dog, Layla.

A family memorial celebration of life will be held at an unspecified time in the future. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Humane Society.
