Services for Mr. John A. Roberts, age 81, of Dublin will be held Saturday, February 05, 2011 at 11am in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Fionne Roberts and his wife, Ann Kendrick Roberts. He was a member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. He loved to travel with Excursions Unlimited. He was a United States Army Veteran where he served in the Korean War. Mr. Roberts was retired from Orkin Exterminating Company. Survivors include two daughters, Emmie Bowers of Dublin and Patsy Blanton of Savannah, GA; son, Bobby Roberts of Somerville, TN; four grandsons, Christopher Bowers of Fullerton, CA, Jonathan Roberts of Lula, GA, Joshua Roberts of Flowery Branch, GA, and Chucky Cates of Savannah, GA; two granddaughters, Amanda Patterson of Mission Viejo, CA and Melanie Harrison of Savannah, GA; great grandson, Marcus Harrison of Savannah, GA; three great granddaughters, Christie Patterson of Mission Viejo, CA, Jordan Patterson of Mission Viejo, CA, and Brooklyn Roberts of Lula, GA. Pallbearers will be Norman Gerard, Jeff White, Doug Bethea, Kenny Daniel, Chris Crawford, and John Andrews.
