J. R. "Dick" Rogers, age 89 of Dublin, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020.  Born in Birmingham, AL, Mr. Rogers lived most of his life in Dublin.  He was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean War and received the Purple Heart Medal.  He was retired from the Laurens County Health Department after 29 1/2 years of Service. His passion was fishing for bass and trout.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife; Lola Jean Driver Rogers, and his parents; Henry Edward Rogers and Dorothy Ann Scarborough Rogers.

Survivors include son; Brian Edward (Elizabeth) Rogers, grandchildren; Stephen Edward (April) Rogers, Brandon Charles Rogers, Jeffery Ray Newsome, Derick Lee Newsome, Phillip Smith, great grandchildren, Daniel Ray Newsome, S. J. Rogers, Faith Rogers, Kensely Rogers, Preslee Elizabeth Newsome, Easton Brown and Colton Hall.

A private family graveside service will be held at Dublin Memorial Gardens.
