John Elton Shell, age 90, of East Dublin, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021.

Mr. Shell was born in Vidalia, GA on June 15, 1930, to the late Harvey Monroe Shell and the late Tiney Viola Williams. He was a logger and retired from Forstmann & Company after many years of dedicated service. He was saved and Baptized at Living Hope Church in Lenoir, NC.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Shell McDowell, and six sisters.

Survivors include a son, John Stephen Shell (Kim); daughter, Selina Sumner (Clyde), of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren, Brandy Shell, Joseph Crook (April), CJ Sumner, Austin McDowell, Ryan McDowell, and Carson McDowell; great-grandchildren, Lexis Crook, Hayley Palmer, Joshua Palmer, Angel Crook, and Brooklyn Oxford; son-in-law, Randy McDowell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2021, at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Andy Williams will officiate.
