Johnnie Mae Jones Tolbert Allen, age 78, of Dublin, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020.

Johnnie Mae was a faithful Christian, serving as a Sunday School teacher in several area churches. Teaching was her passion, and she worked for many years as a Para-professional in the Dublin City School System.

Johnnie Mae had many talents including painting, ceramics, flower arranging, and crafts. She loved her Lord, her family, her friends, and her President.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lavie Mae Gordon Jones; husband, Herschel Laymond Allen; father of her children, Cecil Tolbert; and brother, Lewis Jones.

Survivors include her sons, Gene Tolbert (Wende), of Dublin, Chris Tolbert (Angela), of Tennessee, and Jason Tolbert (Amanda), of New Mexico; grandchildren, Jessica Tanner (Thomas), of Wyoming, Nicole Tolbert, of Dublin, Jennifer Strickland (Nathan), of Okinawa, Jonathan Tolbert (Stephanie), of Virginia, and Austin Tolbert, Carson Tolbert, Eli Tolbert, Peyton Tolbert, all of Tennessee, and Ava Tolbert and Harper Tolbert, both of New Mexico; step-children, Carol Baggett (Steve), of East Dublin and Michael Allen (Melania), of Dublin; brothers, J.S. Jones (Shirley), and James Jones (Hilda), and numerous great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services for Johnnie Mae will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2020, in Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. C.W. Mullis will officiate.
