Services for Johnny Barkewell Bryan, age 86 of Dudley will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Buckhorn United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Church cemetery.  Rev. Jared Middleton will officiate.  Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Bryan was born in Laurens County to the late Ira M. Bryan and the late Pansett Brown Bryan and was also preceded in death by his sisters; Pearl Fordham, Grace Green, Ida Mae Davis, brothers; William "Buddy" Bryan, and Otha Bryan.  He was a member of Buckhorn United Methodist Church.

Johnny spent his entire life in Laurens County farming the land he loved. His every moment was spent outside working on one of his many projects.  "Time spent inside was time wasted."  He will be greatly missed by his family and by those who were blessed with his friendship.

Survivors include a brother; Ira Marvin Bryan, Jr., 13 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews.

Jimmy Ward, Cody Lord, Jody Kirkpatrick, Mike Bryan, Kendall Graham and Wayne Sirmons will serve as pallbearers.
