Services for Johnny Clayton Horne, age72, of Smyrna, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bay Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Herman Williams will officiate. Mr. Horne died Saturday, February 9, 2013. Mr. Horne, born in Cadwell was the son of the late Johnnie Columbus Horne and the late Della Wynn Horne. He graduated from Cadwell High School where he was very active in various sports. Mr. Horne served in the Marine Corps. He was a retired iron worker and attended the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta. In addition to his parents, Mr. Horne was preceded in death by his brother, Arvin Horne. Survivors include his siblings, Barbara (Joe) Brown, of Gallatin, TN, Margaret (David) Laighton, of Boxborough, MA, Benny Horne, of Jefferson, GA, Helen (Ronald) Russell, of Crittenden, KY, Madalyn Horne, of Fayetteville, GA, Jackie (Danny) Dalton, of East Dublin, GA, Tim Horne, of Cadwell, GA; nieces and nephews, Keith (Dawn) Brown, of Gallatin, Kyle (Amy) Brown, of Nashville, TN, Chris (Jill) Laighton, of Boxborough, John Laighton, of Frisco, TX, Valerie Russell and Neil Russell, both of Crittenden, Emily (Tom) Payne, of Grandberry, TX, Lana (Mike) Battle, of Benbrook, TX, Erin Dalton, of Statesboro, Casey Dalton, of East Dublin; seven great nephews and three great nieces. The family will be at the Horne family home in Cadwell. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
