Joseph (Joe)
Raymond Fowler
Nov 7, 1941 — Aug 18, 2026
Joseph Raymond Fowler (Joe), 84, of Cadwell, Georgia, left this earth on August 18, 2026, to be with Jesus and reunited with the love of his life, Ann Fowler. He was born on November 7, 1941, to the late Joseph C. Fowler and Audie Leah Gay.
Joe was an award-winning athlete who loved all sports and created countless good memories for so many on the ball field. Outside of sports, he found joy in the simple things. He liked being in his garden and reading books. Joe had a way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was smart, witty, and never one to hold back - what came up usually came out. He was one of a kind, and will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to serving his family well, he also served in the Navy on the USS Saratoga from 1960-1963.
Joe's faith was an important part of his life, and he treasured the fellowship and friendships he encountered as a faithful member of Plainfield Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Fowler and sister Joy Brookins. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Tanner and her husband Tim Tanner; his son Johnny Fowler and his wife Renee Fowler. Joe was a cherished grandfather to Morgan Willis and her husband, BJ Willis of East Dublin; Taylor Lord and her husband, Jeremy of Dudley; Anna Helton and her husband, Luke of Dudley; and Dustin Fowler and his wife Madison of Dublin. He was a proud great-grandfather of Kylee and Kaysen Willis; Jade and Jep Lord; Hensley and Hunter Helton; and Ryan and Scottie Fowler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Snowhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cadwell, Georgia. The family will greet friends before the service at 10:00 am.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Fowler, Luke Helton, Jeremy Lord, and BJ Willis.
The family may be contacted at the home of Donna and Tim Tanner, 3282 Pat Mullis Rd in Cadwell, Georgia.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Georgia Hospice and their team, especially, Kallie, Amy, Kimberly, Sierra, and Robbie, for their kind and compassionate care.
