Joshua Josh Johnston Davis, age 31, of Dublin and Athens, passed from this life Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Visitation will be held at the home of Judith J. Davis, on Friday, January 21st, 2011 from six o clock pm to eight o clock pm. Services will be held on Saturday, January 22nd, 2011 at two o clock pm at the First United Methodist Church of Dublin, GA. Dr. Jack Key and Rev. Eric Buffington officiate and burial will follow in the Evergreen United Methodist Church Cemetery. Josh grew up in Dublin. He was preceded in death by his father, Jefferson Irwin Davis, III. Josh was a member of Bishop Baptist Church, Bishop, GA. He earned a degree in finance from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Josh was employed previously as a manager with TCB Foods/Zaxbys of Charleston, SC, as a customer service representative at Care Medical in Athens, GA and by the Legacy Center in Louisville, KY. Josh was an Eagle Scout, served as Pledge Class President and member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at The University of Georgia and was a Small Aircraft Student Pilot. He is survived by his mother Judith J. Davis, brother and sister in law Jefferson Irwin Davis, IV and Jennifer, nephews: Jefferson Irwin Davis, V and Morgan Wynn Davis, all of Dublin, great aunt Nancy R. Austin of Gainesville, GA, as well as loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Will Clark, cousin, Craig Gannaway, lifelong friend, Ben Johnston, cousin Chap Johnston, uncle, Chip Johnston, cousin, Jeffrey Mimbs, cousin, Adam O'Quinn, lifelong friend, Danny Pacetti, first brother in Christ, Charles Roach, roommate, brother in Christ, John Salter, cousin, and Rob Shuman, lifelong friend will serve as pallbearers. Brothers and sisters in Christ from Bishop Baptist Church, Bishop, Georgia will serve as honorary escort.
