Obituary

Judy Elaine Rogers, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, at the age of 74, in her hometown of Dublin, Georgia. Born on July 30, 1949, to the late Frank Rogers and Frances Barkwell, Judy's life was a testament to the power of joy, courage, and thoughtfulness. Her spirit was a guiding light that will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her.

Judy's journey began in Dublin, where she was not only born but also flourished, surrounded by the love of her family and community. She walked through life with a heart full of compassion, always ready to share her boundless love with everyone she met. Judy's parents and her brother, Barkwell Rogers, predeceased her, but she carried their memory with her, honoring their legacy by living a life full of generosity and kindness.

As a devoted member of the Evergreen Methodist Church, Judy's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She embraced her roles as a loving mother and grandmother with unparalleled zeal. The sun rose and set with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her son, Danny Rogers, and her cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Dawson, Kember, and Kashton Rogers, were the recipients of her endless affection and support. The joy of her family expanded with the arrival of her great-grandchild, Levi Worthy.

Judy's brother, Wayne Rogers, her honorary daughters, Sarah (Johnny) Cox and Heather Smith, and a host of nephews and nieces, including Dewayne (Amanda) Rogers, Shawn (Mandy) Rogers, Tayler Cox (Dillon) Wynne, Deanna Cox, Jayda Rogers, Layla Rogers, Duane Orr, II, Austin (Emily) Smith, Logan Smith, Cody Rogers, Gage (Madison) Rogers, Aiden Smith, and Avery Rogers, will hold dear the memories of her unwavering support and the warmth she brought into their lives. Her great-great-niece Hazel Wynne and great-great-nephew Holden Smith were also blessed to experience the love of their great-great-aunt Judy.

Judy's life was one of constant giving. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel cherished and valued. Her laughter was infectious, and her sense of humor brought smiles to faces even on the cloudiest of days. She found immense joy in traveling, exploring new places, and creating unforgettable memories with her family and friends.

The melodies of Elvis and Alabama were the soundtrack of Judy's life, and her love for their music was known to all who were close to her. She was the embodiment of thoughtfulness, and her courageous spirit inspired many to face life's challenges with grace and resilience.
