Services for L.F. Horne, age 77 of Dublin, will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, February 13, 2011 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Horne died Thursday, February 10, 2011. Rev. Al Haywood, Rev. Kelland Waldrep, Rev. Chris Scott and Rev. Tracy Daniel will officiate. Mr. Horne was born in Laurens County. He was the son of the late Leon Franklin Horne and the late Bela Mae Warren Horne, and was raised by his loving grandmother, Marietta L. Warren and aunt, Fannie Horne Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Perry Horne. Mr. Horne was a member of Oconee Baptist Church where he was active in Sunday School, Choir and served on the Building Committee. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for 16 years at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center and for 39 years was owner and operator of Hornes Recycling. He is survived by his children, Linda H. (Chris) Bell of Milledgeville, L. F. Buddy (Regina) Horne of East Dublin, Merry Eve H. (Greg) McAlpin of Gordon, Leon A. (Lee Ann) of Dublin, Sisters, Marye Hazel H. LeMunyan of Kenly, NC, Rava H. Pierce of Irwinton, grandchildren, Ron McGowan, Garrett Bell, Kela Collins, Josh Horne, Matthew Horne, Jonathan Millinnix, Jill Horne, Brian Edenfield, Ashley Edenfield, Christopher Horne, Jon Luke Horne, 10 great grandchildren, sibling cousins, Anthony Butler, Murlie Bennett, Sylvia Clements, Evelyn Bartell, and a special friend, Krista Brown. Matthew Horne, Josh Horne, Chris Bell, Chris Horne, Ron McGowan and Anthony Butler will serve as pallbearers. Timothy pierce, Al Pierce, Cobe LeMunyan, Glenn Padgett, Eddie Butler, Jerry Miller, and Cecil Woodard will serve as honorary escort. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Saturday, February 12, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
