Services for Lamar Miller, age 86 of Alamo, will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. W.L. Currie and Rev. Andy Brownlee will officiate. He passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Mr. Miller was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast. He played semi-pro baseball in his youth and was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from J.P. Stevens & Co. and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents, Augustus and Mattie Miller; wife, Essie Mae Maddox Miller, six sisters and two brothers. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tracy Miller, Tim Miller, Trey Miller, Gene Miller, Fate Miller and Dexter Miller. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Tuesday at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cedar Grove Cemetery Fund, 2873 Hwy 46, Dublin, GA 31021.
