Larry Powell, age 77, of Rentz, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

Mr. Powell was born in Johnson County on September 10, 1943, to the late Milton Russell and Hazel Powell. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and he retired from Bell South, where he worked many dedicated years as an engineer. Larry loved trucks, classic cars, trains, and horses. He was a devoted husband, and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Helen Powell, of Rentz; sons, Larry Russell Powell and Kevin Powell, both of Rentz; grandsons, Jesse Powell and Kade Powell (Ragan), both of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Mac Powell and Mia Powell; brother, M R Powell, of East Dublin, and sister, JoAnn Potts, of Thompson.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Robbie Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until funeral hour and Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
