Services for Larry Elwood Purser, age 66 of East Dublin, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, November 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Rev. Doug Bridges and Rev. James Covington will officiate. Mr. Purser was one of the founding fathers and members of Faith Christian Assembly Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from November 23, 1965 until November 22, 1971. He retired from Curry Insurance Agency, where he held multiple insurance agent certifications and managed their insurance department. Mr. Purser was preceded in death by his father, Morgan Elwood Purser; brother-in-law, Kenneth Sterling and father-in-law, Bill Sterling. He passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn S. Purser of East Dublin; daughter, Robin Dawn Lord of Dublin; son, Stephen (Brandi) Purser of East Dublin; grandchildren, Courtney Lord of Macon, Chandler Lord and Camden Lord both of Dublin and Baylee Purser and Jaycee Purser both of East Dublin; mother, Alice Purser of Scott; mother-in-law, Glynice Sterling of East Dublin; two sisters, Patrilla Sterling of East Dublin and Elaine (Mike) Sanders of Marshallville, GA; brother, Jerry Purser of Dublin and several nieces and nephews. The Laurens County Fire Department Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00AM until funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
