Services for Lezellia J. Hightower, age 76 of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Green and Rev. Ben Edwards will officiate. She passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014. Mrs. Hightower was born in Laurens County to the late Leo and Rebecca Young Johnson. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Earl Hightower, Sr; son, Lyman Earl Hightower, Jr. and daughter, Mary Cathy Hightower. Survivors include her son, Gregg (Cindy) Hightower of East Dublin; daughters, Ann Strickland of Mt. Vernon, Lynn (Tommy) Meacham of Evans and Lisa (Sammy) Nations of Thomasville; daughter-in-law, Teresa (Earl) Hightower of East Dublin; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Leo H. "Harry" Johnson of East Dublin and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Matt Hightower, Chris Strickland, Will Meacham, Lee Hightower, Allan Childress and James Hance. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
