Lloyd Broxton Barron, age 92, of Dublin, GA, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Olivet Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery. Rev. Kyle Giddens and Mr. David Currie will officiate. Pallbearers will be Al Scoggins, Marcell Barron, Bobby Willis, Joe Barron, Wendell Barron and Billy Oglesby. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Boundary Breakers Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Barron was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and the Boundary Breakers Sunday School Class. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and he retired from the Carl Vinson VA, where he worked as a Dietician. He was a self-employed mechanic and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Barron was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mattie Dixon Barron and wife, Monnie Mae Scoggins Barron. Survivors include his daughter, Judy Meacham, of Dublin; grandson, Chris Meacham (Jennifer), of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Justin, Hannah and Cassie Meacham, all of Dublin; sister, Louise Massey, of Macon and several nieces and nephews.
