Graveside services for Lois Chapman Barr, age 84, will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will precede the service at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Barr was born on August 30, 1937, in Milledgeville, Georgia, to the late Joseph Poole Chapman and the late Jewell Chapman Wheeler. Mrs. Barr was raised in Brunswick and was a 1955 graduate of Glynn Academy. She continued her education at Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville (now known as Georgia College). She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dublin, where she taught in the Children's Music Ministry for many years and was a member of the Chancel Choir. For over thirty years, Mrs. Barr served as a teacher for Dublin City Schools. She passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E. Bowman Barr, Sr. Survivors include her four daughters: Anne Barr, Mary Leigh (Randall) Coleman, Beth Barr, and Julie (Kelly) Toler, all of Dublin; son: Ed (Ellen) Barr of Hoschton, GA; eight grandchildren: Shannon Barr, E.J. (Caroline) Barr, Michaela Barr, Elizabeth Coleman, Andy Coleman, Matt Coleman, Sophia Toler, and Sadie Toler; and one great-grandchild: Maisie Anderson.
