Services for Lois Pierce Ramage, age 87 of Dudley, who passed away Sunday, will be held at 11:00 Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Jon Boland, Alvin Arnold, L. J. Ussery and Randy Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Ramage was a devoted mother to eight children and a loving aunt, grandmother and great grandmother to many. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings, including Relief Society President and she also taught Adult Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Ramage was also known for her sewing and crochet work and quilting. Mrs. Ramage graduated from Empire High School in 1941 and married James E. Ramage, Sr., in 1944 in Dodge County, GA. She started housekeeping in Jacksonville, FL during World War II. During ensuing years, she began her family in Dodge County and later lived in Collins, Empire, Macon, Wrightsville, Dublin, Monticello and Dudley, where she has lived for over 45 years. She worked at various occupations and retired in 1989. Mrs. Ramage was preceded in death by her parents, Judge Henry Alexander Pierce and Cherrie Leola Phillips Pierce, her husband of 59 years, James E. Ramage, Sr., two sons, Phillip Russell Ramage and Barry Christopher Ramage and a granddaughter, Hayley Aurelia Tippett. Survivors include her children, Ernestine R. Crews of Hephzibah, Cherry R. Smith of Chelsea, AL, James E. (Shirley) Ramage of Yulee, FL, Sgt. Major- US Army Retired Lyndon P. (Gina) Ramage of Godwin, NC, Aurelia R. (AL) Tippett of Dublin, and Stephanie F. Ramage of Decatur; grandchildren: Samantha Crews (Josh) Megli, Renee Taylor (Ken) Parkman, Tonya Taylor (James) Cannon, Alex (Julie) Ramage, Tracie Ramage (Al) Nikolai, Chris Ramage, Brian Ramage, Amy Ramage, Lee Tippett, Meghan Tippett, Michelle Tippett (Brian) Thompson, and Charlie Fisher. Chris Ramage, Brian Ramage, James Cannon, Lee Tippett, Charlie Fisher, Josh Megli and Rex Boland will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
