Lucille Couey St. Johns, age 92, passed away on July 28, 2012. Mrs. St. Johns was born April 1, 1920 in Wheeler county Georgia. She lived in Dublin, Warner Robins and Tampa, Fl. In her younger years in Dublin she worked at J.P. Stevens, often referred to as the "woolen mill". Mrs. St. Johns was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Rush St. Johns, her daughter Barbara Jean (B.J.) Achord, parents Frank James and Maudie Eveline Couey, sister, Dorothy Dean Couey Wright, brother, Robert F. (Bob) Couey. Survivors include her two grandchildren LeJean Rodewald and Nathaniel "Rusty" Achord and six great-grandchildren. She also had two nieces and two nephews. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 2nd, 2012 at New Bethel Baptist Church with Brother Grady Mimbs officiating. Interment will be at Warner Robins. Visitation will be at 9:00 AM Thursday at New Bethel Baptist Church. Relatives and friends are welcome. Memorial contributions are welcome at Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
