Mary Lynn Reid, known to everyone as Lynn, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Dublin, Georgia, at the age of 78.
Lynn was born on July 17, 1948, in Eastman, Georgia, to the late S.J. and Velma Pridgen Grubbs. She lived a life marked by love, devotion, and a warm spirit that touched the hearts of many. Her life reflected the values of kindness, loyalty, and a genuine appreciation for the people around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Michael Reid; her son, Danny Gillis; her grandchildren, Kristin Gillis and Tyler Gillis; her brother, Charles Grubbs her sisters; Peggy Spires, Judy Boutwell, and Jackie Conley; and her parents. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life. She also carried the love of those who survive her, including her sons, Dewayne Gillis and his wife Ann, and Keith Gillis and his wife Katie. She is also survived by her sisters, Patsy Peacock and Susan Woodard and her husband Bill, as well as several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Lynn spent 20 years working at the peanut stand for Hardy Farms, where she made numerous friends and became a familiar and beloved face to many. Her work was more than a job, as it was a place where her cheerful personality and easy conversation brightened the days of those she met. She took pride in the relationships she built there and in the simple kindness she showed to others. Her presence left a lasting impression on coworkers, customers, and friends alike.
Outside of work, Lynn enjoyed music, karaoke, and dancing. These interests brought her joy and reflected the lively and spirited nature that so many loved about her. She appreciated the moments that allowed her to laugh, sing, and share time with others. Whether listening to a favorite song or stepping out on the dance floor, she embraced life with enthusiasm and heart.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with Mr. Keith Gillis officiating. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Edwards, Andrew Morris, Hunter Price, T.J. Ricks, Josh Otto and Chris Johnson.
Roy Gillis and Terry Ricks will serve as honorary escorts.
