Services for Mabel B. Harris, 100 of East Dublin will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 21, 2011 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:30PM at Friendship Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Twin City. Rev. Tommy Veal will officiate. She passed away on January 18, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Harris was born and raised in Emanuel County. She lived the last 24 years in East Dublin. She was a member of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, William D. Brown and Bitha B. Brown and her husband, Frank Harris, Jr. She was also preceded in death by four brothers; Willie Brown, Nathan Brown, Rufus Brown and Grady Brown, and three sisters; Maggie Fulmer, Maxie Brown and Agnes Collins. She is survived by her daughters; Mary Helen Tapley and June (Troy) Joyce, both of East Dublin, and Margaret (J.B.) Anderson of Vidalia; son, Frank Harris, III of Twin City; brother, Walton (Delina) Brown of Statesboro; 13 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Tapley, Dean Tapley, Dwane Tapley, Bill Laird, Richard Harris and Frank Harris IV. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in her memory.
