A graveside service for Malcolm V. "Mike" Cox, Sr. age 84 of Rentz, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Rentz Cemetery. Rev. Tom Vann will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Cox was born in Columbus, and moved to Rentz in 1964. He retired from the Progressive Rural Telephone Company after many years of service. He was a member of Rentz Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, William P. Cox and Corine Newboun Cox, his wives, Resa Stribling Cox and Betty Sue Williams Cox. He died Friday, December 16, 2016. Survivors include his son; Malcolm V. Cox, Jr. of Rentz, his daughter; Doreen Cox Rogers and husband Stuart, of Chester, grandchildren; Kelly Rogers (Ashley) Justice and Michael Stuart Rogers, and great grandchildren; Blakelyn Morgan Rogers and Bryson Lee Justice.
