Margaret Odom Bailey, age 86, of East Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 after a brief illness. Mrs. Bailey was born on April 30, 1931 in Laurens County to the late William Lanier Odom and the late Marie Elliott Odom. She retired from J.P. Stevens after 40 plus years of dedicated service. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, but currently attended Blackville Church of God. Margaret was a devoted mother, loving "Ma" and friend to many. Everyone that met her fell in love with her spunky personality and kind spirit. To know her was to truly love her and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have been loved by her. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle S. Bailey, Sr.; daughter, Rhonda Bailey Grizzard; daughter-in-law, Ellen Evans Bailey; sisters, Gertrude Odom Pope and Glynn Odom Adkins; and brother, Kermit Lanier Odom. She is survived by her sons, Doyle S. "Sammy" Bailey, Jr., of East Dublin and Bill Bailey (Crystal) of Dublin; grandchildren, Crystal Bowen (Travis), of East Dublin, Amanda Tydings (Eric), of Columbus, Josh Nazworth (Lysette), of Michigan, Jamie Sharpe, of Tennessee, Jessie Nazworth, of Thomasville, Olivia and Luke Bailey, both of Dublin; great-grandchildren, Ella, Colt, Denver, Grace, Emery, and Sadie and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ashley Way and Rev. Kip Boswell will officiate. Pallbearers will be Butch Clay, Barry Knapp, David Nobles, Phillip Warnock, Dan Young, and Fred Young. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
