Mrs. Margaret Cathcart Hilburn, age 93, of Marietta, formerly of Dublin, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017. Visitation for Mrs. Hilburn will begin at 10:00 AM with funeral service at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 25, 2017, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate.

Mrs. Hilburn was born in Anderson, SC. She lived most of her life in Dublin, where she was a member of First Baptist Church and was interested and active in civic and social activities of the city. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene "Gene" Hilburn, and her parents, Robert McCully Cathcart and Lucy Carpenter Cathcart.

Survivors include her son, William Robert Hilburn (Fonda) of Houston, TX, daughter, Florence Hilburn Sapp (Ray) of Marietta, GA, grandson, James Harris Groover (Rebekah), great granddaughter, Sarah Cate Groover of Smyrna, GA, sister, Roberta Hopkins of Pittsboro, NC and two nieces and a nephew.

Her grandson, James Harris Groover will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 405 Bellevue Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021, in memory of Mrs. Hilburn.
