Marian Lynette
Strickland
d. Dec 24, 2016
Services for Marian Lynette Daniels Strickland, age 69, of East Dublin, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Carters Chapel. Pastor Don Hicks, Pastor Myron Wise, and Mr. Charlie Cox will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Mrs. Strickland died December 24, 2016. Mrs. Strickland, a 1965 graduate of East Laurens High School, was an LPN at Fairview Park Hospital. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and sang with the church choir. Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Edwin Daniels, Sr. and Marion Lanell Sheppard Daniels. Survivors include her husband, Mike Strickland, of East Dublin; siblings, Jane Daniels (Terry) Bouldin, of Mentone, AL, Lynn (Vance) Brooks, of Thomaston, GA, Ed (Carolyn) Daniels, of Dublin, and Lori (Michael) Thigpen, of Dublin; nephews and nieces, Bill McDowell, Jessica Holliday, April Chastain, Blake Daniels, Lauren Evans, Charlie Cox, and Camille Bermea; and great nieces and nephew, Blakelee Evans, Lila Chastain, and Jace Chastain. Blake Daniels, Charlie Cox, Julio Bermea, Shannon Holliday, Steve Graham, Donnie Barwick, Russell Sheppard, and Richard Brantley will serve as pallbearers. Lynette received the ultimate Christmas gift as she was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was well loved and she also loved so well. She was a loving wife to her husband Mike, the best big sister to her four younger siblings, and an awesome "Aunt Nette" to her nieces and nephews. She would spend her last penny if she thought it would bring her loved ones a moment of happiness. To do for them brought her more than just a moment of happiness, it brought her a lifetime. Lynette's personality radiated sweetness and love. She shared that love for many years with the sick children she cared for as a nurse on pediatrics, first at Laurens Memorial, then Fairview Park Hospital. She will be remembered by her family and friends for bringing laughter and sharing a smile to those whom she came in contact.
