Mrs. Marjorie Pryor Britt, age 80, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at her home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Britt was born December 31, 1942 in Savannah, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents, the late Robert Pryor and Mae Williams Pryor; her husband, James Howard Britt; a brother, Truman Pryor and a sister, Carolyn Evans. Mrs. Britt was raised and spent her childhood in the Scott Community up until age 12. At that time her family moved to Dublin, where she has remained for the past 68 years. She was retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center after many years as a cashier in the canteen. She also worked at Circle Y Restaurant where she met many friends.

She was a member of Poplar Springs United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. Described by her family as having a heart of gold, she was always willing to help others. When not loving on her family, she enjoyed the times spent with her friends around a quilting circle.

She is survived a son, Art (Melinda) Hargis of Dublin; a daughter, Delesia (Steven) Knight of Rentz; her grandchildren, Leevon (Raeanne) Platt, Dillan (Kari) Platt, Jessica (Dusty) Spires, Ben Platt, Elizabeth Hargis, Sam Hargis, Anna Hargis, Kristina (Brett) Smith and Jackson (Madison) Knight. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church in Adrian. Rev. Mark Hardin will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the chapel.

Pallbearers will be Ben Platt, Dillan Platt, Dusty Spires, Jackson Knight, Leevon Platt and Sam Hargis.
