Services for Marjorie Brown Jessup, age 90, of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 20, 2017, at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Billy Glosson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Jessup died Friday, March 17, 2017.

Mrs. Jessup was born in Chester, Dodge County on April 7, 1926 to the late Charles C. and Thelma Mullis Brown. She graduated from Middle Georgia College and attended the Georgia College for Women. Mrs. Jessup taught school at Chester High School in Dodge County, and Dexter High School in Laurens County. In addition to teaching, she also coached. She retired as librarian from the Oconee Regional Library in Dublin. Mrs. Jessup was a member of the First Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jessup was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Wayne Jessup, infant son, Charles Wayne Jessup; brother, Charles Mullis Brown; and infant grandson, Stephen Durell Jessup, II.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Sheriff Stephen D. and Nora Howell Jessup, of Darien, Stanley and Dena Jessup, of Dublin, Sidney L. and Mandi Perdue Jessup, of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Jessica Jessup, Cletus Jessup, Stan Jessup, Jr., Jennifer Jessup, Sydney Jessup, and Joe Jessup; and four great grandchildren.
