Marjorie Hodges
Lindsey
Jun 10, 1933 — Aug 12, 2026
Marjorie Hodges Lindsey, 93, of Dublin, Georgia, passed away on August 12, 2026, in Dudley, Georgia, where she had lived the last nine years. She was born on June 10, 1933, in Dublin, Georgia, and lived a long life marked by love, devotion, and a spirited independence that those who knew her will always remember.
Marjorie was the daughter of the late Tom and Mary Cook Hodges. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doyle Lindsey; her daughter, Debbie Lindsey Fordham; her brothers, Howard Hodges, Ray Hodges, Chappell Hodges, and Marvin Hodges; and her sister, Helen Hodges Walker. Her family was the center of her life, and she carried the memory of those she loved with her always.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Williams and her husband Tommy of Milledgeville, and Judy Cook and the late Danny Cook of Dudley. She is also survived by her sister, Fay Myers of Dexter. Marjorie leaves behind a loving legacy through her grandchildren, Robbie Cook, Ryan Cook, Richie Cook, Chan Williams, Lindsey Davis, and Scott Stuckey, as well as her great-grandchildren, Camille Cook, Anderson Cook, Riley Cook, Bailey Cook, Brooke Hogg, Austin Davis, Alex Davis, Amy Davis, and Jacob Stuckey, and great-great grandchild, Alani Davis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Her family brought her great joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Marjorie devoted 30 years of service to JP Stevens, where she retired as a supervisor. Her years of service reflected the same determination and commitment that she carried into every part of her life.
She was a faithful member of Marie Baptist Church and dearly loved her church and church family. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and she found comfort and fellowship in the friendships and worship she shared there. Marjorie was also a member of the Red Hat Society, where she enjoyed the companionship and fun that came with being part of that group.
Marjorie had many simple pleasures that made her life rich and meaningful. She enjoyed her pets, especially her three cats and her dog, Willie, who brought her companionship and happiness. She loved gardening and took great pleasure in watching things grow. She also cherished the times she traveled with her husband, creating memories that remained dear to her throughout her life. Above all, she loved spending time with her close friends and family, and those moments were among her most treasured.
Though she was known to do everything her way, Marjorie had a big heart and loved everyone she met. She was loving and spirited, and her presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her strength, warmth, and individuality made her unforgettable, and her family and friends will always remember her with affection and gratitude.
A funeral service celebrating Marjorie's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Marie Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rentz City Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hutto and Rev. Robbie Passmore will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until service hour.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Cook, Ryan Cook, Richie Cook, Chan Williams, and Scott Stuckey.
