Services for Martha Elizabeth Wright, age 90, of Dublin, will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2013, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. Rex Kaney will officiate. Mrs. Wright died Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Mrs. Wright, born in Dublin, was the daughter of the late Harmon L. Holmes and the late Ada Garnto Holmes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon William Wright, Sr.; brothers, Hoke Holmes and Luman Holmes; and sister, Ethel Holmes. Mrs. Wright was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and later of Pine Hill United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school classes for children and was active in various Methodist women's organizations. She was also a generous contributor to The World Wildlife Federation, The American Humane Society, The Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association, The USO, The Appalachian Children's Fund, The American Diabetes Association and the University of Georgia Department of Theater and Film Studies. Survivors include her sons, Lee Wright, of Fort Pierce, FL, David A. (Juanita) Wright, of Dublin; grandchildren, Michelle Wright-Caudill, of Warner Robins, Meredith (Mitch) Dowell, of Point of Rocks, MD, Benjamin Wright, Annapolis, MD and Jonathan Wright, of Fort Pierce, FL; great grandsons, Holden and Eamon Wright-Caudill, of Warner Robins and a number of nieces and nephews. Benjamin Wright, Jonathan Wright, Holden Wright-Caudill, Sean Defoe, Tommy Wright, and Carl Clifford will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
