Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Maffett died Saturday, April 10 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Graveside Services for Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Maffett, age 94 will be held on Tuesday, April 13 at 2:00 pm at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr Joel Dent will officiate.

Mrs Maffett was born June 7, 1926 in Monroe,Georgia and moved to Dublin in 1952. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Briscoe and Sara Belle Phillips Briscoe. She is also preceded in death by her brother John Bert Briscoe and her husband Robert Gerald (Bob) Maffett whom she was married to for 69 years.

Betty was employed and retired with 25 years of service with the Georgia Department of Rehabilitation Services. She was a dedicated member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and served on many boards over the years. She was also a member of the Ben F Williams Sunday School Class , the Morning Circle of the United Methodist Women and The We Care Group along with the Senior Foresters. She loved the Lord, her family, the church and doing for others.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Mike and Suzan Maffett of Hilton Head Island, SC, her daughter Judy Maffett of Bluffton, SC; six Grandchildren, Michael Maffett (Natalie) of Dublin, Tom Maffett (Robin) of Atlanta, Katie Fontenot (Ian) of Southern Pines, NC, Jake Frazier of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Maury Beasley (Misty) of Dublin, and Gina Dee Barker (Michael) of Jefferson, Georgia; six Great Grandchildren, Davis and Charlie Maffett, of Dublin Braceton and Braelee Beasley of Dublin, Ease and Suzanna Barker of Jefferson, Georgia.
