Mary Virginia Brown, age 83 of Dublin, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Henry Dixon and Rev. Chris Dixon will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30PM until funeral hour at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Alligood, Brian Guyton, Chan Alligood, Dustin Alligood, Chuck Brown and Jim Sell. Mrs. Brown was a member of Minter Baptist Church. She was retired from Mohawk Industries after 34 years of service and also enjoyed her 8 years of working at Garden Gate Florist. She loved to fish and cook for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Brown, Sr.; son, Wayne E. Brown, Jr.; daughter, Margie V. Brown; parents, DeBenion and Mary Payne Gilbert and brother, Wendell Gilbert. Survivors include her husband, Walter L. Townsend of East Dublin; daughters, Debbie Brown Alligood of Cadwell and Janice Brown Thomas (J.A.) of Dexter; daughter-in-law, Jan Brown of Dublin; sister, Shelby Gilbert Sanders of Dublin; grandchildren, Brian (Angel) Alligood, Kristi (Brian) Guyton, Chan (Jann) Alligood, Dustin (Cala) Alligood and Chuck Brown; great-grandchildren, Gracie Alligood, Chloe Alligood, Tori Brown, Maci Brown, Anna Alligood, Nicholas Durden, Chanley Alligood, Elynn Alligood and Ella Alligood and several nieces and nephews.
