Services for Mary Louise Chapman, age 75, of Dexter will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with a private burial to follow in Gay Cemetery. Rev. Harvard Hudson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until funeral hour. She passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.
Mrs. Chapman graduated from high school in 1955 and then pursued a Licensed Practical Nursing degree, graduating in 1965. Over the years, she taught children in Sunday School, was the children's church leader at Tweed Chapel Church of God. She also taught GA's and Acteens in Hyattsville, MD. Mrs. Chapman was a member of Bluewater Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Bud and Elsie Poole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Chapman and three brothers, Ray, Larry and Buddy Poole.
Survivors include her children, Norman Douglas (Nora) Chapman of Stafford, VA; Bonita Lorraine Pegg of Rome, GA; Esther Louise (Glen Sr.) Forte of Dublin; Teresa Lynn (Ed) Woodard of Cadwell, GA; James Daniel (Debbie) Chapman of East Dublin, GA; John Allen Chapman of East Dublin, GA and Peter Anthony Chapman of Dexter, GA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Morris Poole of San Diego, CA and Donald Lee Poole of Long Beach, CA; six sisters, Doris Mae (Ronnie) Lowery of Naples, FL; Joan Marie (John) Lemmons of Kelso, WA; Janice Adalaide (Ted) Gargiulo of Seaside, CA; Charlotte Ann Poole of Bowie, MD; Elsie Noris (Rodger) Norton of Garrettsville, OH and Ruth Ellen Mays of Eastman, GA and many nieces and nephews.
