Services for Mary Alice Mullis McCullars, age 86 of Cadwell, will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, February 24, 2014, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Greg Lowery, Rev. Frank Mullis, Rev. Rusty Brown, and Rev. Cole Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM until the funeral time. Mrs. McCullars died Saturday, February 22, 2014. Mrs. McCullars was the daughter of the late Banager Lamb and the late Willie Mae McLeod Lamb. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the Pleasant Hill Church WMU and choir. She was also a member of the Food Service Association. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCullars was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-one years, James B. Mullis, and her brother, Murray Lamb. Survivors include her husband, Durell McCullars, of Cadwell; children, Jimmy (Ophelia) Mullis, Ralph H. (Margaret) Mullis, Alicia M. (Bobby) King, all of Cadwell, Raymond F. (Mary) Mullis, Sr., of Eastman; step-children, Carol Cook, of Cadwell, Richard McCullars, of Decatur, Renee (Lawton) Shipp, of Brewton, AL, Becky (Jeff) Voge, of Graceland; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The Deacons of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
