Mary Register Powell, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2016, at Serenity Place, Dublin, GA. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 24th, at 11:00 a.m. at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Dublin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00. Burial will follow the service at Dublin Memorial Gardens. She was born on March 4, 1929, in Eastman, GA, and grew up in the Cochran area. She later moved to Dublin in pursuit of her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Claxton Hospital and later at the Medical Center. It was in Dublin that she met and married the love of her life, Carlton W. Powell. Mary then left her nursing career to become a homemaker. She loved gardening and animals. Mary was a dear friend and a wonderful prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beaulah Francis Batts and Sonie Barker Register, and eight siblings. She is survived by her step-son, Carl W. Powell, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
