Mary Copeland Smith, age 58, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Curtis Vinson will officiate. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Cody Newman, Jerry Downard, Caleb Hightower, Skyler Melvin, Allen Ricks, Ricky Ricks, and Jarvis Washington. Mrs. Smith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Lizzie Jane Hartley Copeland, and sisters, Susie Boyles and Nancy Brantley. Survivors include her husband, Philip B. Smith, of Dublin; daughter, Melinda Downard, of Dublin; sons, Littlejohn Gordon, George Gordon, and David Gordon, all of Dublin; brothers, Harry Copeland, Silas Copeland, and Paul Copeland, all of Dublin; sister, Patty Ricks (Sammy), of Adrian; grandchildren, Misty Toler, Johnny Downard, Andrew Griffith, Layla Gordon, George Gordon. Jr., Hunter Gordon, Cody Reynolds, Breanna Truelove, Cheyanne Downard, and Destiny Downard, all of Dublin; 7 great-grandchildren; step-son, James David Smith, of Deltona, FL and numerous other family members.
