Mary Kay Smith, age 76, of Rentz, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021.

Ms. Smith was born in Laurens County on January 3, 1945, to the late Melt and Dessie Watson. She was a lifetime member of Rentz Baptist Church, as well as a member of the choir and WMU ministries. Mary Kay retired from Claxton Lawrence Ford and was a former member of the Dublin Pilot Club. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joselyn Alford, and the father of her children, Jimmy Smith.

Survivors include her daughters, Selene Sapp (Chad), of Rentz, and Dawn Smith Pope, of Eastman; grandchildren, Chase Sapp and Makayla Sapp, both of Rentz, and Tyler Spivey (Jordan Odom) and Rustin Spivey (Skylar Sartor), both of East Dublin; sisters, Katrina Lord (Earl), of Dublin, and Nelda Newman, of Snellgrove, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Rentz Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Greg Lowery and Rev. Tom Van will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the church.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Faircloth, Mike Faircloth, Robert Earl Lord, Chris Mimbs, Sam Andrews, and Jimmy Skipper.
