Graveside services for Mary Wilkes Wise, age 69 of Allenhurst, will be held at 2:30PM on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Walker Family Cemetery in the Longpond Community of Mt. Vernon. Pastor Mike Landrum will officiate. She passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Mrs. Wise was born in Laurens County. She was a homemaker and a member of Blackville Church of God. She was a wonderful mother and loving grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel L. Gillis; husband, Pete Wise and daughter, Gail Foskey. She is survived by her children; Patricia (Tony) Kerezsi of Allenhurst, Robert (Daphney) Aills, Jr. of East Dublin and Susan (Mike) Curry of Brunswick; mother, Mary Churchwell Gillis of East Dublin; sister, Linda Stewart of East Dublin; brothers, Bobby Gillis of Americus, Tommy Gillis and Herbert Gillis both of East Dublin; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
