Mary Inez Wood, age 87 of Dexter, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Dexter Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Calvin Holcomb will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Wood was a member of Dexter Baptist church and owner and operator of Dexter Café. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Wood; parents, Joseph and Leila Bryan Mullis; great-grandsons, Chase Lawhorn and Ryan Barwick and 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include her children, Brenda (John) Woodard of Eastman, Sue (Bobby) Lawhorn of Dexter, James Earl (Dianne Haskins) Wood of Dublin and Gail (William) Odom of Dexter; grandchildren, Ellen (Richie) Brown of Dublin, Jodi (Jason) Warren of Dexter, Rob (Danyelle) Lawhorn of Dexter, Jamie (Meredith) Lawhorn of Dexter, Mitch (Amy) Lawhorn of Dublin, Pam (Chad) Graham of East Dublin, Jay (Stephanie) Wood of Dexter, Donna (Matt) Sapp of Dexter, Chad Odom of Dexter and Kim Owens of East Dublin; 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Rob Lawhorn, Jamie Lawhorn, Mitch Lawhorn, Jay Wood, Chad Odom, Richie Brown, Jason Warren, Chad Graham, Matt Sapp and Michael Hadden.
