Mattie Curry, age 73, of Montrose, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at home with her husband and children at her side.

Services will be held at 2:30PM on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Bethsaida Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Brad Ball will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until funeral hour at the church on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Donald Connell, James Taylor, Zac Yancey, Garrett Yancey, Chris Avery, Ricky West and Larry Curry.

Mrs. Curry was born in Laurens County to the late Emory and Ethel Whitfield Holmes. She was a Christian and member of Bethsaida Baptist Church. She loved her family, gardening, horse and wagon trails, and was a wonderful cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marjorie Garner, Ruby Connell, Floyd Holmes, Richard Holmes and Vernon Holmes.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years, Billy Frank Curry, of Montrose; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Brad Yancey, of Dublin; son, Anthony Curry, of Montrose; grandsons, Zac Yancey, of East Dublin and Garrett Yancey, of Dublin; brothers, Ralph Holmes, of Wrightsville and Gene Holmes of East Dublin; sisters, Barbara Calhoun, of Ailey and Joyce Foskey, of Rockledge.
