Services for Mattie Nell Wood, age 80 of Dexter will be held Friday at 12:00 Noon graveside at Mt Carmel Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Friday from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Mrs. Wood was born in Dexter to the late J. L. Niblett and the late Mattie Underwood Niblett. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was a loving mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Auburn Wood and a daughter Neline Bracewell. Survivors include her children, Wayne Wood, Raymond Wood and Joan Duke, all of Dexter; grandchildren, Chuck Bracewell, Jamie Bracewell, Dari Roberson, Nena Brooks, Greg Wood, Jarrett Wood, and Christie Bracewell; and several great grandchildren. Chuck Bracewell, Jamie Bracewell, Greg Wood, Jarrett Wood, Wayne Wood and Raymond Wood will serve as pallbearers.
