Services for Mavis Hobbs Brewer, age 89, of Rentz, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Baker Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Hobbs Family Cemetery. Rev. Joey Diers and Mr. Jeff Hanley will officiate. The family will receive friends at Baker Baptist Church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Brewer died Sunday, April 21, 2013. Mrs. Brewer was the daughter of the late Henry J. Hobbs and the late Pearl Fountain Hobbs. She was a member of Baker Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, served as the Church Treasurer, faithfully supported Lottie Moon Missions, and had perfect attendance in Sunday School for over twenty-three years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Brewer; sister, Grace Hobbs Cleveland; and brothers, Hilton H. Hobbs, and T. J. Hobbs. Survivors include her sister, Reva Hobbs Woodard, of Dublin, and her nieces and nephews. Chris Hobbs, Tommy Hobbs, Ronald Brewer, Chris Kersey, Chaston Kersey, and Zeb Cleveland will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baker Baptist Church Building Fund or Baker Baptist Church Lottie Moon, P. O. Box 335, Rentz, GA 31075. Family headquarters will be at 1560 Baker Church Road, Rentz. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
