Mavis Heath McCullars, age 90, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Serenity Place surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. McCullars was born in Bleckley County on July 29, 1931, to the late Homer Lee and Roberta Purser Heath. She retired from Mohawk and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved her family and was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William David McCullars; granddaughter, Amy McCullars Wilkes; and siblings, Harvey Heath, Calvin Heath, James Heath (Pearl), William Heath, Wallace Heath, Loise Cauley, George Heath, and Margaret Roberts.
Survivors include her children, Betty Marsengill (Ron) of Mt. Airy; Alfred McCullars (Joyce) of Dublin; Marcell Knight of East Dublin, and Danny McCullars (Laurie) of Dublin; grandchildren, Rhonda Walby of Mt. Airy, Keith Knight (Kelly) of Waverly Hall, Audra McCullars Graham of Dublin, Kristy Shepard (Eric) of Dudley, Cameron McCullars of East Dublin, Charlie-Bass Wages of Dublin, Sunnie-York Wages of Dublin, Jorden Marsengill, Derick Marsengill; great-grandchildren, Justin Knight, Courtney Moore, Kayla McNair, Alex Clark, Shannon Squires, Wyatt Roberts, Karlee Graham, Lauryn Shepard, and Luke Shepard; three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Donnie Baker and Rev. Alan Heath will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Keith Knight, Eric Shepard, Cameron McCullars, Wyatt Roberts, Reggie McCullars, and Wayne Heath.
