Mazie L. Fowler McMullan, age 104, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Tommy Pulliam, Dr. Larry Daniels, and Rev. Matt Haywood will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Blaine Fowler, Brad Fowler, Dustin Fowler, Nick Fowler, Colby Fowler, and Tim Wynn. Mrs. McMullan was born in Laurens County to the late William and Viney Branch Wynn and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was married to Cecil B. Fowler for 54 years, living in Wrightsville, before his passing in 1984. In 1992, she married George H. McMullan and they resided together in Dublin until his passing in 2011. Miss Mazie took residence at the Benton House of Dublin in January 2011, and resided there until November of 2016. She was known at the Benton House for her dancing anytime music was being played. She loved people, and those who knew her returned her love. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Cecil M. Fowler; brothers, Albert Wynn and J.B. Wynn, and sister, Patricia Watson. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Roberta Fowler, of Eatonton; grandsons, Roger C. Fowler (Kathy), of Bonaire, Randy M. Fowler, of Columbus, and Rex V. Fowler, of Eatonton; 6 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
