Melba Orr Simpson, age 74, of Dublin, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017.

Mrs. Simpson was born in Buford, GA on January 19, 1943 to the late William and Eloise Reid Orr. She was a graduate of North Gwinnett High School and attended ABAC from 1961-1963, and obtained her Master's degree in education.

Mrs. Simpson was an educator for 30 years, teaching at B.B. Harris Elementary, Saxton Elementary, and also serving as librarian in the Dublin City Schools. She was member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and an avid reader all her life.

She is survived by her husband, John D. Simpson, Sr., of Dublin and son, John D. Simpson, Jr., also of Dublin.

Services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Wes Moye and Dr. Joel Dent will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until funeral hour at the church on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Earl Morgan, Wayne Templeton, Kenny Martin, John Clem, Greg Williams, and George Durden.
