Graveside services for Miriam Cook Barillaro, age 91 of Montrose will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2013 at Montrose Municipal Cemetery. Her great nephew, Rev. Jeffry Cook will officiate. Mrs. Barillaro died Monday, March 17, 2014.
Mrs. Barillaro was predeceased by her parents, William Riley Cook and Rosa Blackshear Cook, and her husband, John B. Barillaro, and her two brothers and their wives, William Frederick Cook (Nell Lord Cook) and Albert Jackson Cook (Eloise Jones Cook). She was a member of Montrose Methodist Church and the Montrose Senior Citizens Club. She received her education in the Montrose School and Middle Georgia College, Cochran, GA. During World War II she was employed at Camp Wheeler where she met her husband, a native of Danvers, Massachusetts. They made their home there until retirement and returned to Montrose, GA.
Survivors include nieces, Barbara (Mike) Wolfe, June (Ben) Adcock, Jackie Davis, Stacy Cook- Cooper, Nephews, Bill (Regina) Cook, Danny (Judy) Cook, Freddy (Sherry) Cook, Christopher (Wendy) Cook, Andy (Jo-Anne) Cook, a sister in law, Geraldine Forsythe, Attleboro, MA, niece, Joan Northway of Chelsea, MA, nephew, John Lantych (Cathy) of Meverly MA, and many great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, P O Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203 or to Montrose Methodist Church, c/o Bill Cook, 1889 Ga Highway 26, Montrose, GA 31065. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
