Services for Miriam Black Carter, age 77, of East Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Ben Edwards will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter died Sunday, February 8, 2015.
Mrs. Carter was a member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church and the church's Senior Sunday School Class. She was baptized in the river.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Odell Black and Georgia Evelyn Pullen Black, husband, Thomas Francis Carter; and sister, Margaret Byrd.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Michael Carter, Sr., of East Dublin; goddaughter, Angel Johnson, of East Dublin grandchildren, Thomas Michael Carter, Jr., Taylor Marie Carter, Tucker Mason Carter, all of East Dublin; sisters, Ruby Nelle Black, of East Dublin, Evelyn Eudell (Jack) Sanders, of Dublin, and Elsie Elizabeth Black, of East Dublin;aunt, Leagle Wilkins of Dublin; uncle, Clifton Pullen of Milledgeville and nieces and nephews, Joy and David Brown, and Michelle, Sammy, and Ridge Dickens.
Ken Davis, Bruce Wynn, Steven Powell, Kyle Johnson, Joey Wynn, and Kelvin Foskey will serve as pallbearers.
