Montine Holland Taylor, passed away on August 7, 2026, at the age of 104. She was born on June 26, 1922, in Cochran, Georgia, and lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to family, faith, friendship, and service to others.
Montine was preceded in death by her parents, J.S. and Mary Holland; her husband, William Taylor; her brothers, James Holland, Wilber Holland, Ray Holland, and Roy Holland; and her sister, Grace Hart.
She is survived by her son, John N. Taylor (Virginia) of Dothan, Alabama; her daughter, Mary Bradshaw (Tommy) of Ozark, Alabama; her grandsons, John Taylor, Jr. (Rachel) of Taylor, Alabama, and Richard Leonard of Lancaster, Ohio; her granddaughters, Donna West (Alan) of Hoover, Alabama, and Rebecca Leonard of Lancaster, Ohio. She also leaves behind a loving legacy through her great-grandchildren: Ashley Fleming (Stephen) of Dothan, Alabama; Brenton Taylor of Taylor, Alabama; Kayla Smith (Ethan) of California, Pennsylvania; Thomas Marshall (Myrical) of Baker Hill, Alabama; Taylor St. Germain (Taylor) of Hoover, Alabama; Christian West (Aiden) of Hoover, Alabama, and Tazie Haybron (Corbin) of Lancaster, Ohio. Her family also includes great-great-grandchildren: Dean Allman of California, Pennsylvania; Tripp Smith of California, Pennsylvania; Londyn Marshall of Baker Hill, Alabama; Erin Fleming of Dothan, Alabama; Owen Haybron of Lancaster, Ohio, and McKenna Haybron of Lancaster, Ohio, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
A retired banker with Bank of America, Montine approached her work with professionalism, integrity, and dedication. Her career was a reflection of her dependable character and her ability to serve others with care and respect.
She was a member of First Methodist Church in Dublin. Her life was grounded in faith, and she was known for the warmth and sincerity she brought to every relationship. In her personal life, Montine enjoyed playing bridge with friends, traveling, and collecting antiques.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran, GA. Rev. David Thompson will officiate.
Pallbearers will be John Taylor, Jr., Brenton Taylor, Jeff Holland, Darron Rowe, Shawn Morgan, and Randy Hart.
