Morris Hulon Mimbs, age 78 of Alamo, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014. Services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ray Harris and Rev. Randy Mimbs will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Morris Hulon Mimbs was born July 18, 1936 to the late George Elbert & Annie Nell Mimbs. He retired from Sears in 1978 and was the Owner of Dublin Jewelry until he retired in 2001. Mr. Mimbs was a deacon of Union Springs Baptist Church and had 25 years of perfect attendance as a member of the Dublin Civitan Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Eugene Mimbs and sisters, Evie Jean Grooms and Sara Nell Harvill. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Clark Mimbs of Alamo; two sons, Gary (Michelle) Mimbs of Sandersville and Terry (D'Ann) Mimbs of McRae; grandchildren, Ryan (Haley) Mimbs of Thomasville, Whitney (Cameron) Marchant of Grovetown, Matthew Mimbs of Morristown, TN, Tyler Mimbs of Sandersville and Blake Mimbs of McRae; great-grandchild, Aiden Mimbs of Thomasville and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ryne Mimbs, Tyler Mimbs, Blake Mimbs, Matthew Mimbs, Cameron Marchant and Dean Graham. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Dublin Civitan Club.
